It just keeps raining! Bright leaves blow around in the wind. Granted, this rain is probably only a two- or three-day affair, but how lovely to have more than a drizzle. It’s Fall itself that is finally arriving.
We are enjoying some relaxing and homey aspects of this time of year, like wood fires and hot tea and reading together under blankets. Mr. Glad had a hankering for comfort-food breakfast, and my only picture that shows something of our coziness is of the resulting French toast.
Yum! French toast IS a comfort food, indeed! Yay for rain! I hope it keeps coming!

So glad to hear you’re getting rain. We are blessed with so much, as it was VERY dry and the ferns and undergrowth were panting for water. Now the ducks are happily bobbing about! Also that you are having Comfort Food, too! love the fresh soups and breads that Fall brings! Leslie

Leslie, I am having soup nearly every morning for breakfast. I love to think about the bobbing ducks that are part of your neighborhood.

Thank you, nikkipolani, for the good wishes. And may you get some down your way, too! My husband and I are reading about the arid West in Cadillac Desert and it seems that at this point in history for us to consistently get “enough” water would be an outright miracle.

As you, Sara, have much more in the way of winter discomforts than we do, it makes me glad that I can help compensate by adding to your comforts. Stay warm!

Did you realize that my picture is of French toast? I know, it reminds one of any of those toasty-bready things, OR pancakes…there must be some toast-making going on in The Wind in the Willows somewhere, hmm?
