I needed a reminder to take time and appreciate the art of dust jackets. I haven’t read any of the three I’ve pasted pictures of, but their covers alone do draw me to them.
Gladsome Lights 
I remember that cover for Poldark but my original Wizard of Earthsea was very different, almost art nouveau. The Earthsea trilogy is my favourite fantasy novel – I love complete worlds and Earthsea is almost perfect, I would have sooner lived in Earthsea than Middle Earth.

Truly beautiful, detailed, compelling pictures add so much to how we feel about a book, from childhood to adulthood. I like those covers.

Some of the young adult classic dust jackets (actually, paperback covers now) that are re-released are entirely wrong for the era and tone of the book. It's wonderful that the books are deemed timeless, but the more “modern” covers are already dated (thinking of some 20-40 old versions)
