This morning Neighbor Kim invited me to walk with her in a more rural area near where she used to live, and within 20 minutes we were driving over there. Showers were looming, but didn’t come, and we walked an hour along roads I hadn’t been on in many years.
She said, “I wish it would rain two days a month so it could stay green all year.”
Oh, my goodness – I can see that April has arrived where you are! (would things stay green if it only rained twice a month?)

That’s never gonna happen, so I won’t speculate about it! Our winters are often like this, Lisa, and the green lasts as long as the rains, so sometimes into May, but not always. Often by April there is a grey tinge to the green, and then it turns more gold, and ultimately all is brown, as in “California Hills in August”.

A walk in a new, or even an old but rarely visited neighborhood is stimulating, isn’t it? I like these “old county” pictures you have taken.

Your pictures show this to have been an interesting walk. It is always good to get out somewhere different.

“Roads you hadn’t been on in many years.” That sounds like a walk down memory lane, or like you at least have some long history in the area. That’s a nice thing. I used to have a palm tree in my front yard when we lived in Texas, but you would never see one here in northern Minnesota. A pretty walk. Too bad it doesn’t stay green. 🙂 Have a blessed day!

Looks familiar. Our Redbud is only just showing signs of waking up. Reminder of pretty things to come.
