“The chief end of our life is to live in communion with God. To this end the Son of God became incarnate, in order to return us to this divine communion, which was lost by the fall into sin. Through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, we enter into communion with the Father and thus attain our purpose.”
— St. Theophan the Recluse
Amen. And I love that Recluse is part of his name. 😊

I am an introvert too, so I smiled at the camaraderie. But, come to think of it, Recluse and introvert may not be the same thing.

I see what you may be referring to. I do think, as an introvert myself, that being an introvert leaves one more prone to being an almost recluse 😉

Oh, I understand now – you are not referring to a name of God, but to St Theophan 🙂

We introverts often wish we could be more reclusive 😉

Amen to this. As for the recluse part, I always thought I’d love to be one, but now that I’m actually living alone I’m finding myself feeling lonely for humans! Go figure. I’m not only introverted, but shy. The shyness is making it difficult to get involved in church making it a hard cycle to break. Having some problems with depression and anxiety. I know the Lord never leaves me, but I really have to work at reminding myself. Sorry for the diatribe. Thanks for any prayers you can spare. Love you, sister!
