THE VALLEY WIND
Living in retirement beyond the World,
Silently enjoying isolation,
I pull the rope of my door tighter
And stuff my window with roots and ferns.
My spirit is tuned to the Spring-season;
At the fall of the year there is autumn in my heart.
Thus imitating cosmic changes
My cottage becomes a Universe.

Both a beautiful poem and photograph!

This poem is lovely! Now that we’ve moved back the clock, home is indeed our universe for much longer each evening.

In the fall of the year I also feel autumn in my heart, a sort of melancholy.
Good little poem.

autumn is such a peaceful season. nature comes to the evening of the year but at the same time it makes a heroic effort to die gracefully.
I love poetry but read even more of it in autumn and winter.

Hello Gretchen. Reading your posts after another long time away from all blogging and such. This poem does reflect the hearts of us who love home, nature, and the wonder of changing seasons. Take care.
