The moon is beautiful tonight, playing hide and seek behind the clouds, rising above my neighbor’s redwood tree. I know we are not quite at the full moon, but rain is expected on that date, and this moon is lovely. I can’t take a very good picture with my little phone, but I tried anyway.

I only took three pictures, thinking they were probably a waste of effort — but then I noticed that the moon was a lot less blurry in the last one, maybe because it was less obscured by the clouds in that frame, and my camera could focus better. This was one of those times I wished I had taken more time to learn how to use my real camera.

Last night I was outside looking at the rather egg-shaped moon and tonight I’ll be out again since it is still clear out. Today it should be fully rounded. Beautiful!!

I have had a couple now that were fairly satisfactory. One of them was when I was in Mumbai, and it was one of those nights when the moon is huge — but then, in my photo, it isn’t!
