At first the yellow flowers seemed overcome and droopy from rain, but looking closer helped me see that they are standing upright, hats off, acknowledging the joy of those in pink uniforms across the green fence twirling upraised arms and cheering the sun’s breakthrough, dancing like Francis would.

I was only following St Francis’s metaphor of the sun pouring down like rain. We had no precipitation of the water sort!

Aw. So good. We bought a second round of flowers at the hardware store yesterday. Denver daisies and pinwheel petunias. I watched a movie called The Greenfingers and it inspired me to keep on even though it’s hot.
