Yesterday my godmother called, suggesting that we go for coffee or a walk. What a nice idea! I knew I needed the walk, and didn’t need the coffee, so she came over, and we ambled along my usual path, but farther than I’ve been going lately. That gave me the oomph to go again this afternoon, on a Sunday of all days, when typically I need a nap more, and rarely get that…

It’s been a week or more since the rains, I can’t keep track, and the creek has quieted down to a silver ribbon. Actually I walk along two different creeks, and cross the bridge where they merge.

The tender fennel ferns are popping out greenly.
My favorite detail in the second photo is that exceptionally long, thin branch reaching out across the stream, about in the middle of the photo. I thought it was a vine at first, but decided it’s a branch from one of those young saplings.

How nice to have the weather good enough that you can get out for a good walk — and see green! We’re in a cold (10 degrees, not counting wind chill!) and white world! This is a tonic!

Getting outside in sunshine after days of rain almost makes me giddy! A lovely walk. Those delicate fennel ferns are a welcome sight.

I like that eucalyptus tree. It looks very old. Beside the pretty stream would be a pleasant place to walk.
