I stilll remember the first time I saw a Gulf fritillary. It was feeding on blue mistflower, at a wildlife refuge. I’ve been distressed that I haven’t yet seen the butterflies or the flower this year, but going back to the archives, I see that it was mid-September that I found both. Methinks I’m over-anxious.
I think it is the most common butterfly in my garden – at least, of the ones large enough to notice easily… I probably learned years ago what its name was, but forgot, and rather than spend a long time looking online, I asked on FB, and got a quick answer. 🙂
Great photo. I have those butterflies here too.
Have a great week ~ FlowerLady
