The morrow was a bright September morn;
The earth was beautiful as if new-born;
There was that nameless splendor everywhere,
That wild exhilaration in the air,
Which makes the passers in the city street
Congratulate each other as they meet.
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Tales of a Wayside Inn
Thanks to Dewena!
At least two strangers on the parking lot of a store (my only outing so far) made eye contact, nodded, and I could see the corners of a smile. I did that in return. Maybe it’s a contemporary big city version of the poet’s “Congratulate each other as they meet.” So yes, it is that kind of day here as well.🌻

Ours was also a bright September morn, with lovely sunshine after days of rain.

Aw! Sweet! I’ve been smiley today because I slept so well. I don’t always.
