The Early Morning

THE EARLY MORNING

The moon on the one hand, the dawn on the other:
The moon is my sister, the dawn is my brother.
The moon on my left and the dawn on my right.
My brother, good morning: my sister, good night.

-Hilaire Belloc

  1. This is a perfect poem to read now, nearly two hours before sunrise 🙂 Why up so early? The first round of no power (load shedding) starts at seven o’clock until half past nine!

    1. That’s inconvenient! I guess you need to use whatever power you need before what would be a more traditional period of morning ablutions and breakfast. And how often does that happen at that time of day?
